Most foreign nationals need a visa to travel to Azerbaijan. The most convenient option is obtaining an electronic visa (e-visa) through the ASAN Visa system. The e-visa is issued within 3 working days, allows a stay of up to 30 days, requires a state fee of USD 20, and applications are submitted via the evisa.gov.az portal, regardless of Azerbaijan’s separate visa-free regimes with certain countries.
Steps to obtain an ASAN Visa:- Visit the evisa.gov.az portal: Access the Official Electronic Visa Portal of the Republic of Azerbaijan (evisa.gov.az).
- Complete the application: Check whether your nationality is on the list and fill in the application form.
- Pay the fee: Pay the USD 20 state fee.
- Wait: Your electronic visa will be ready within 3 working days.
Who needs a visa?
If your country does not have a visa-free regime with Azerbaijan (for example, many European countries, the USA, Canada, some Asian countries, the UAE, etc.), you usually need to obtain an e-visa. If you do not have visa-free entry based on your nationality, please check the evisa.gov.az portal.
